Frequently Asked Questions - Patrons

We are rarely asked questions about the functionality of Reviews as we have built it to be very intuitive with in-built tips (shown when you hover your mouse over the red question marks that appear by key features throughout the software).

Do I have to register to add a review?

This depends on the library - it is possible to switch on or off the ability for patrons to post reviews anonymously.

Is there a length limit for reviews?

Yes, the limit is 65,535 characters per review. This is usually over 10,000 words, so should be enough for any review!

What are patron email addresses collected for?

Patron email addresses are collected for two reasons only:

  1. For the patron to be able to receive a “reset password” email, should he or she forget or lose the password
  2. For the library to be able to contact the patron if necessary

However, according to our Privacy policy to preserve patron privacy, we will never release patron email address to a third party, not even the library. However, the library has the ability to contact the patron (without seeing their email address), so the patron effectively remains anonymous.
