Once you have Connections implemented in your OPAC, you will notice that once you mouse-over jacket pics of some of your items, it will show a label, e.g., “8 users have this”, which means how many Connections users have this item on their bookshelves:

Clicking the link will open a list of users which have the item on their bookshelves:

This way a patron can click the “View profile” button for the user, log on to Connections and communicate with any of the users having the item, e.g., see a review, ask questions over the internal mail or have instant chat with the user if he or she appears to be online at that moment
