Users can get automated notifications when:

• 1 day before item becomes overdue
• when hold becomes available
• when a new fine is added to the account

Users can opt in to receiving notifications when they log in for the first time. After that the notifications can be managed on the general Settings > Notifications > [APP NAME] section:

PLEASE NOTE: the app does not have push messages, but rather pull reminders as the app stores user credentials on your phone and accesses the catalog on regular basis to check for changes. Therefore the Background Fetching will not happen in app after the user has killed it in the multitasking UI - this is due to iOs design.
